San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council supporting Paloma Aguirre for San Diego County Supervisor, “Toxic”

Winner, Gold, 2026 Pollies (Bilingual/Multilingual/Foreign Language Digital Ad)

This was the second video in a series of mail and digital for Paloma Aguirre’s campaign for the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. This campaign was sponsored by the local labor council and was targeted to local union members only. The local union members were a mixed group politically but solidly working class, and we needed to show them that Paloma would not leave them behind. This area of San Diego County had been forgotten politically in the past and had genuine issues that Paloma, as Mayor of Imperial Beach, had a record of addressing. Specifically, South County residents have been dealing with toxic pollution from the Tijuana River, which has gone ignored by politicians in both parties. This video highlights her victories for South County residents to clean up the pollution and reverse its effects. It emphasizes, in both English and Spanish versions, that Paloma is second to none when it comes to securing tangible results and no candidate has taken it as seriously as she has. This video set her apart from the other Democratic candidates she faced in the primary, as she was the only candidate who had a real record of results to address the issue.

Adelita Grijalva for Congress, “Spanish Bio Trifold”

Winner, 2026 Reeds (Best Direct Mail – Spanish) Winner, Silver, 2026 Pollies (U.S. House of Representatives)

This piece balanced the goals of honoring Adelita’s father and showing that Adelita could stand on her own. It highlighted her deep roots, extensive public service, and comprehensive vision for her time in Congress, while saying everything on the piece twice to make sure our message was communicated as widely as possible. High-quality photography highlighted Adelita’s strong endorsements, roots, and family, and top tier design made the extensive copy feel open, easily readable and grounded in the community. This piece had a lot of goals, and each was met. Adelita won the primary handily and eventually the general.

San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council supporting Paloma Aguirre for San Diego County Supervisor,

“Fight” Winner, Silver, 2026 Pollies (Local/Municipal/Regional)

This piece was a membership-only communication sent by the San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council AFL-CIO to their members in the county’s third supervisorial district. Our target voters were a mixed group politically, but solidly working class, and we needed to show that Paloma, a Democrat, would not leave them behind. This area of San Diego County had been forgotten politically in the past and had genuine concerns. As Mayor of Imperial Beach, Paloma had a strong record of accomplishments and pledged to be a strong voice for the district. We faced the additional challenge of a crowded media environment, and crowded mailboxes. We needed our message to stand out. This piece is that home run. The message is conveyed immediately and clearly, in just 72 words across both panels. Both sides evoke the boxing theme and the side with the gloves is an incredible work of realism in graphic design. The words are chipped revealing the wall beneath, the post-it note seems stuck on and lifting from the bottom. The other side answers the question posed by the reverse but stands on its own. It too looks like a real poster on a real wall. The message is simple, but every part of this piece feeds into it and strengthens it. Paloma placed second in the primary, besting five other candidates including two other Democrats, and advanced to the runoff, where she won.

Maine House Democratic Caucus supporting Sean Faircloth, “Paper Thin”

Winner, Bronze, 2026 Pollies (IE Campaign – State Legislature)

This piece was part of a series of mail and digital ads targeting partisan, middle-turnout Democratic voters in a special election for the Maine State House, with a focus on preserving Democrats’ narrow majority in that chamber. It helped bolster Democratic turnout and deliver a convincing win for State Representative Sean Faircloth by highlighting the broader partisan and policy stakes of the election plain.

Thank you to the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) and Campaigns & Elections Magazine for the honor as well as our peers, who judged our work anonymously. Congratulations to our fellow winners!
