Since November 5, I’ve looked for “silver linings” wherever I can find them. From truly important things like spending Thanksgiving with my relatives from North Carolina who were affected by Hurricane Helene, to trivial matters like finding a great parking spot (my wife’s superpower), silver linings are all around us. Give it a try yourself — it can really improve your outlook.
Convergence found some election-related silver linings this year. Working with dedicated partners from coast to coast, we were fortunate to lend a hand to important victories, including:
- Helping our longtime client and friend Ruben Gallego make history as Arizona’s first Latino US Senator
- Re-electing Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego with over 60% of the vote in America’s 5th largest city
- Restoring the value of safe communities in California by recalling the incompetent district attorney of Alameda County and electing a new DA in Los Angeles County
- Defeating a NIMBY career politician in the San Francisco Mayor’s race and a secret MAGA Republican in an important San Diego County Board of Supervisors race
- Bringing open primaries and ranked choice voting to Washington, DC
- Maintaining Democrats’ majority in the Maine House of Representatives, with a number of razor-thin victories, as part of the Maine House Democratic Campaign Committee’s IE
- Helping elect or re-elect common-sense Democrats in communities across Oregon, California, Arizona, Texas, Maryland, Delaware and Maine
Equally important, we’re pitching in to promote silver lining outcomes for folks in need, by contributing to local charities on behalf of our clients. This year we are pleased to support One Safe Place in Fort Worth, TX; Sojourner Center, Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, St Vincent de Paul and A New Leaf in Phoenix, AZ; the Welcome Home Project in San Francisco, Contra Costa Family Justice Center, and Partnership for a Better San Diego in California; Stars Scholarship Fund in South Texas; and Woodfords Family Services in Maine.
Convergence turned 10 years old this year! We are incredibly grateful for your support and friendship during the last decade, and we hope you stick with us as we navigate the challenging tween and teen years ahead.
Wishing you a holiday season filled with silver bells and silver linings!
