Job Posting — Senior Associate, 2026 Election Cycle

Convergence Targeted Communications is seeking a Senior Associate for the 2026 cycle in our Washington, DC office or remotely.

About the company: Convergence Targeted Communications is a boutique strategic communications consultancy based in Washington, DC. Our focus is on electoral politics for Democratic/progressive candidates, independent expenditure campaigns, and causes, in addition to our work for nonprofit and corporate clients. We create and produce targeted media, predominantly direct mail and digital advertising. Our client base is diverse, national and represents the full ideological spectrum of progressive/Democratic politics.

We’re a small company with big reach; our clients have ranged from candidates for school board to President, and we’ve worked in over 45 states (so far).

About the job: We’re hiring a Senior Associate to help with every facet of our business. The Senior Associate will participate in communications with clients and internal strategic discussions, review polling and consider targeting, and will contribute ideas in team-wide brainstorming sessions.

You’ll work on nearly every phase of the communications process, from determining the right audience for our messages to drafting communications (direct mail, campaign literature, video scripts, and more), working with our design team and clients to edit and produce top-notch, error-free work. At a larger firm, someone with this role might work in one particular ‘silo,’ but at Convergence, you’ll have the opportunity to do a bit of everything.

The position is based in our Washington, DC office. Remote options are available, pending discussion with supervisors. Our team works together in the office for a set number of days each week and is expected to be available while working remotely on other days. As most of our work is campaign-oriented, our team occasionally works odd (and longer) hours depending on proximity to election days.

Salary/Benefits

  • Salary: $6,500-$7,500 per month (through December), commensurate with experience
  • Health Insurance: the company provides partial reimbursement for health care premiums
  • Flexible PTO/vacation with no accrual period, outside of election windows
  • Additional Benefits: Generous bonuses related to individual job performance and firm profitability are common in federal election years; funding for additional professional development trainings or event attendance as approved by supervisors.

About you: You have experience in politics, either on a campaign or in political communications. You’re passionate about politics and may have been told by friends that you’re obsessed with detail. You want to do good while doing well, and you don’t mind working odd hours (only) when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in communications or political campaigns
  • Passion for political campaigns and a desire to learn more about the political consulting industry as part of the role
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • A demonstrated record of attention to detail in an occasionally stressful environment

“Nice to Have” — Please note the following in your application:

  • Previous campaign management experience
  • Previous experience in political advertising at a consultancy, party committee, or organization
  • Previous experience with professional writing
  • Experience with any of the following: Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop, or Illustrator; Votebuilder/Targetsmartvan; PDI; Labels and Lists (L2); any database software; Meta Business Suite

To Apply: Apply using the form below! Please include a resumé and a writing sample. The writing sample can be brief, and can be a cover letter OR any other document that demonstrates your writing ability.
